How to use the age calculator
Using this tool takes about five seconds. Tap the first field and pick your date of birth from the calendar. If you want your age today, leave the second field alone — it fills in automatically with the current date. Then press Calculate age. The big number at the top is your age in years, months, and days, and just beneath it you will see how many days remain until your next birthday.
Want to know how old you were on a specific past date, or how old you will be on a future one? Change the "age as of" field to that date. This is handy for working out someone's age at an event, checking eligibility cut-off dates, or filling in a form that asks for your age on a particular day rather than today.
How the calculation works
People often assume age is just today's date minus your birth date divided by 365. That shortcut is wrong, and it drifts by a full day roughly every four years because it ignores leap years. CalcPond does it the way a human counts instead: it walks the calendar forward from your birth date one unit at a time.
First it counts every full year that has passed. Then, from your most recent birthday, it counts the whole months that have completed. Finally it counts the leftover days. Because each step uses the real length of each real month — 28, 29, 30, or 31 days — the result matches how your age is stated on an ID or a form exactly.
A worked example makes it concrete. Suppose you were born on 15 March 2000 and today is 25 July 2026. You have completed 26 full years (your 26th birthday was 15 March 2026). From 15 March to 15 July is 4 more whole months. From 15 July to 25 July is 10 more days. So your exact age is 26 years, 4 months, and 10 days — not "about 26.4 years."
Why the "total days" number is useful
Below your main age, the calculator also shows your age expressed entirely in months, weeks, days, and hours. These totals are fun, but they are also practical. Parents of newborns are often asked for a baby's age in weeks. Some visa and insurance forms want age in total months. And the total-days figure is the cleanest way to compare two people's ages precisely, because it removes the messiness of uneven month lengths.

How is my exact age calculated?
Your age is counted as full years first, then the leftover full months, then the remaining days. Each unit is only counted once it fully completes, which is exactly how ages are stated in everyday life.
Does the age calculator handle leap years?
Yes. Because the calculation walks the real calendar month by month, February 29 and every leap year in between are counted correctly. There is no 365-day approximation to drift.
Is my date of birth stored or sent anywhere?
No. The entire calculation runs in your browser with JavaScript. Nothing you type is uploaded, saved, or shared with anyone.
Can I calculate age between any two dates?
Yes. Change the "age as of" date to any date you like and the calculator shows the age on that day. Leave it as today for your current age.
Why does the number of leftover days change month to month?
Months have different lengths, so the days remaining after counting whole months naturally vary. This is normal and mathematically correct.
